miscellaneous | sublime port, cranberry and shallot sauce.

Serves 1-2

This is a gorgeous alternative to gravy and is sweet and delicious.

Wheat free, dairy free, nut free, meat free version...



  1. Heat the margarine in a pan and sauté the shallots until starting to go a light brown.
  2. Add the port and cranberry and continue to cook until the mixture becomes thicker and more syrupy.
  3. Drizzle over something and serve - yum!

This is gorgeous with the herby sausages and zingy mashed potato. It's lovely with quick mushroom parcels - or just to drizzle over vegetables to add some moisture to a meal.

If you have port leftover, try the poached pears. If you have shallots leftover, add to the mushroom and herb provencal and quick herby tomatoes.
